This Vinyasa Short heating sequence is perfect to use at the beginning of class after you’ve done a couple of sun salutations to open up the breath. It warms up the body up quickly!
Our Vinyasa Short heating sequence includes a variety of fun poses and as its shown I would consider it more of an intermediate sequence. If you’re leading a beginner class, modify the asanas to suit the level of your class.
For your intermediate students, emphasize breath control and smooth transitions between poses to challenge them a bit more.
If you step through this vinyasa yourself, you’ll notice right away how important it is to use the strength of the deep core muscles to stabilize each pose. If your core is weak, you’ll end up using the arms way more, putting undue stress on the shoulders. If this happens for you, rest in between the movements by coming down into child’s pose. Then resume after the arms and shoulders have rested a bit.

It’s much more fun to teach when you feel excited and inspired about your class material. I hope these little snippets of class sequences give you a starting place for that inspiration.
