our planned adventures

The beautiful fish at Kapoho, Big Island, Hawaii. We’ll head out to the amazing tidepools at Kapoho with our rented snorkeling gear (included in your package) for some of the BEST coral structures in the Hawaii island chain, and fish GALORE!

Known officially as the Wai’opae Tidepools Marine Life Conservation District, this natural preserve and protected reef  keeps most of the surf out of the tide pools, creating an oasis for Hawaii’s colorful reef fish, as well as a good selection of coral. Gorgeous coral reefs at Kapoho, Big Island, Hawaii. These grounds are especially fertile in the warm Big Island waters than in the cooler waters around the other Hawaiian islands.

There are several large tide pools that are deep enough to snorkel in, as well as many others that you can view from bridges of lava separating the smaller pools.

And if we’re lucky we’ll see an occasional honu (sea turtle) too!

Ziplining through paradise. On another day, we’ll be ziplining over dozens of waterfalls and tropical Hawaiian forest on the longest side-by-side zipline on Hawaii island. It is the ONLY rainforest-canopy-to-raging-waterfall zipline experience, featuring state-of-the-art magnetic braking systems. Woooohoooooo….can’t wait!!!

These adventures are included in the prices listed below, as well as transportation to and from their embarkation spots.

about kalani

The Rainbow Room will host our yoga sessions. For more than 30 years, Kalani has been a soulful place of refuge and renewal for international guests. Kalani is an educational nonprofit organization that celebrates Hawaii, nature, culture and wellness. Kalani is located on Hawaii Island, aka, the Big Island, and is bordered by tropical jungle and the Pacific Ocean.

The beautiful raw, rugged environment is full of prana…the Big Island is the newest of the island chain. Less than a 10 minutes walk away is Ahalanui Park with its natural, protected thermal pool, heated by the volcanoes to about 90 degrees.

facilitators

Silly selfie! That’s us! Rupali Embry and Tania Jo Ingrahm…we have a combined 50+ years of yoga experience, having founded and owned Yoga Hawaii in Honolulu for 12 of those years. We’ve trained nearly 400 yoga teachers internationally, and now we just wanna have fun. We both lean a little to the left side of nutty and are clearly not your typical yoga teachers.

During this retreat we’ll be teaching an eclectic mix of styles, from relaxing to vigorous, plus some purification practices to help you feel fabulous, frisky and refreshed. Expect some mantra practice, pranayama and sutra study to keep things interesting!

We are always happy to take special requests if you have a favorite pose you want to work on (headstand, anyone?).
